Science Fairs World Summit 2012
|Dates: 21/11/2012 - 24/11/2012
Place: Puebla, Mexico

Since its creation, MILSET has been gathering educators and young people from all around the world in its activities, through a simple goal: inspire youth through Science and Technology. 25 years after its creation, MILSET is now represented in 84 countries, and its members reach each year hundreds of thousands of young scientists around the world.
MILSET, however, is not alone in the landscape of the Science Fairs. Though having a large network of Local, National and International Science Fair organizers, we must share our philosophy and experience with others actors of science and education. On the dawn of our 25th anniversary, we feel the need to fill-in the gaps.
This is the reason why MILSET would like, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, to invite the main actors of Scientific and Popular Education all around the world to a unique event, where each one will be able to share its vision of Science Fairs, Education in Science or Scientific and Technologic activities for youth.
The idea of getting this event done in Puebla during the month of November is not innocent. “La RED”, the Mexican National Network of Science and Technology Activities for Youth, is holding its national Science Fair making it the largest event organized by one of the MILSET’s member.
Following its idea of a better understanding of each other, MILSET propose to gather the Main Organizers of Science Fairs in the world to sit on a round table and discuss together the future of Science Fairs. How to work with Universities, how to reach more kids, how to give back attraction to Scientific careers through Science Fairs, how to work together could be the themes of discussion. The Summit should lead to a better understanding of the different actors of this universe, as well as on some guidelines and common goals to be reached together.
